Thanks to the generous coordination and fundraising efforts of supporter Di Hu and the contributions of multiple donors, on Saturday, February 24th, twelve Boxing Out Negativity participants and four volunteers/coaches enjoyed a viewing of Marvel’s Black Panther at an AMC Theater on Chicago’s West side. The movie delved into some heavy themes, from colonialism and racial politics to family strife and civic responsibility. There was some great discussion after the movie, and the youth will be meeting again soon to explore the themes in greater depth.
